GuruMaa’s Vision After accomplishing the impossible in a foreign land, starting with only twenty-nine dollars, GuruMaa should have happily retired and spend the rest of her life in relative peace and quiet. But, She had a vision.
Her vision saw Her creating an Ashram in India. Her vision saw a bleak future for USA, while a bright future in India. This was nearly two decades ago, when USA was at its peak and India was a basket case.
She persisted despite obstacles of all kinds. Her vision was grand in scale, while the obstacles were even grander. She overcame all obstacles one by one, and became stronger in Her will-power and determination to fulfill Her vision. The Ashram project in Haryana was embroiled in delays, lies and corruption. She threw it away, and started afresh in Lonavala. In Lonavala, She was able to acquire more than 27 acres of land in the mountains with not even a pucca road to get there. She saw Her vision in front of Her. She told us that this land was full of positive vibrations, where the Vedic Ashram will flourish around one of the biggest temples of Her Hanumanji. The Ashram would include 15 other temples, include 9 for the Navgrahas, 5 Aadi dev fountains, 9 gardens around the Navgraha temples, cottages for devotees, an auditorium, library, conference hall, schools, women’s workshop, emergency medical center, vet hospital, hostels, lodging and boarding facilities, communal kitchen, ayurvedic restaurant, organic farming, dairy farm, health spa, sports facilities, yoga and meditation halls, riding track, heliport and an orphanage.
Her dream was grand. This was not a simple project. This involved hundreds of crores of funds, getting permits from many departments of the government and more important, convincing the skeptical trustees and devotees that Her vision was achievable.
We have seen Her achieve the impossible in the New York Ashram, with hundreds of lights She has lit across the USA. We have send Her heal the ‘hopelessly’ sick, we have seen Her divinity and miracles in countless ways. Can She achieve the impossible yet again in India? Her health started failing. She has had severe cardiac problems. But, Her determination grew stronger. The sicker She got, the more determined She got. Last year on my pilgrimage to Lonavala at our Ashram, She sat me down and reiterated Her vision. She clearly laid out the phases of the Ashram development.
She instructed me with the following:
1. The water uplifting project and the tree planting initiative should be an ongoing effort along with Vedic Seva Fund.
2. Phase 1 of the project should focus on building the temples for Mangal, Guru, Rahu and Ketu along with the gardens around them.
3. Phase 2 of the project will include the building of staff quarters, restaurant and the “nalas’ or the drainage system.
4. Next phase will involve the buildout of Rahu. Chandra, Budh and Shukra temples. This phase should include the building of cottages which have been fully paid.
5. Phase 4 will include the building of Sri Hanuman Temple and Surya Dev Mandir. The kalash of Sri hanuman temple should be built with 11 kg’s or approximately 360 ounces of Gold.
6. As the funds come in, the rest of the phases should be planned.
7. She even gave instructions of Her Samadhi! She gave instructions of a museum next to the Samadhi. She also laid out the vision of Her books. She has completed the writing, and the books are now waiting for editing and printing. On March 13th and 14th, the very first phase of the project will be showcased to the world.
It is a huge inspiration to me, and the whole world that with patience, persistence and will power you can achieve your audacious goals, especially if your goals are for the betterment of mankind and to lay a strong foundation for the future generations to learn about our rich heritage from the Vedas.
