Holi filled with the sound and rhythm of music and dance
Once again this year as pioneers in promoting Indian Classical Music and Dance, Vedic Heritage proudly presented their annual Holi Talent Competition on March 19, 2011.
Special appreciation and kudos go to all the gurus, parents and the participants for their dedication and effort in nurturing our true Indian culture of classical dance and music by teaching youngsters in America and preparing them to perform here at the Pandit Jasraj Auditorium.
They came to perform from New York, New Jersey, Westchester and Connecticut. This program captures the spirit of the Holi festival with color, song and dance but most importantly it brings people of all ages together to enjoy a wonderful evening filled with the sound and rhythm of music and dance. There was much joy amongst children and adults alike when they colored each other with bright Holi colors in the very spirit of the festival. A fire was also lit for the ‘Holika Dahan’ that was attended by many present for the pooja in the temple. In all there were almost four hundred people who came to the temple that day to join either in the regular pooja, or the special Holika pooja, or to ‘play Holi’ and or, to see the day’s special Holi Talent Competition 2011 program, of dance and music.
